Layers of color, materials, layers of me...
Biography
My artistic journey began in 2004, when, as a self-taught artist, I approached the world of abstract art almost for fun. Over the years, I have experienced an internal conflict between my inclination towards figurative art and the search for freer and more conceptual forms. This confrontation pushed me to explore both styles, but over time it was the freer and more non-representational visual language that prevailed in my main exhibitions.
Among the most significant exhibitions, I remember the solo show at Palazzo Estense in Varese, an event that marked a turning point in my career. I also participated in numerous group shows, including those at Villa Bagatti and Valsecchi in Monza, and I continued to exhibit my work in solo and group shows over the years. In addition, I had the opportunity to participate in art fairs such as Affordable Milano, which represented an important opportunity for visibility in the contemporary art scene.
Creative process and techniques
My work develops through material experimentation, where color and light interact with surfaces in an unpredictable way. I use fluid acrylics, layered on gauze and other materials, creating overlaps that generate effects of transparency and depth. The color is spread, absorbed, moved, allowing the material itself to guide the composition.
In addition to gauze, my artistic path has led me to explore unusual media such as silicone, a material that I have used in the past for its qualities of volume and plasticity. Experimentation with new materials is a constant in my research, a process of discovery in continuous evolution, in which the material itself becomes an active part of the work.
